Silver Lining explores the pandemic situation of lockdown and the logistical difficulties faced by the human kind due to it. It commemorates the efforts of the workers; who have stayed true to their call of duty and made sure that food essentials (vegetables and fruits) are delivered. The painting has six motifs of vegetables and fruits (carrots, tomato, onions, pineapple, grapes and dragon fruit) each representing different kind of needs. The blue flower, which serves as a central symbol for inspiration, is a badge of honor symbolizing hope and beauty in these troublesome times. On a broader spectrum the work also investigates the plastic age and contemporary times we live in and it’s attached complexities.
